I want more top-end power!

I am tired of having new GT's pull back up to me after I get the jump on them! What are some mods that I can do to give me more top-end power? Would 1.6 RR do anything?

A cut out on your exhaust would definatly help your top end horsepower.

Perhaps a tune up, I'd think you'd be able to beat a new GT period. I beat a couple bullets this weak went from a roll both times 50-80 on the first one pulled him for about 1.5 cars and was not slowing down...as for more top end power do a full exhaust, CAI, new MAF (or do you have a 93?) 52mm throttle body, MSD ignition box, you could gut your catalytic converter, then get a dyno tune, thats about all I can really think of without going internal...(gears but I'm not a fan of gears or converters)...

CAI, headers, cutout, heads, cam - in somewhat in that order. Gears are always an option too, but alot of people have bad luck when putting in new gears, shop installed or not.

Get some Longtube headers. I have absolutley rape all the GT's around here now since the longtubes. As to where before i would win some lose some. A stock LT1 vs stock new GT is a really good matchup.

Stock for stock comparing the same cars I think the F body would win everytime. Most auto LT1 cars are low 14's most new stang GT's with the auto are gonna be 14.40's to 14.60's (at least the ones I've seen) 6 speed LT1 will run 13.80's to 14.0's assuming it's a good driver, the stang 5 speeds 14.10's to 14.20's or so.

Thanks guys! I also forgot to mention that the GT had a CAI, H-pipe, and catback with a 5 speed.
