heads and cam or supercharger

i am wanting some reliable horsepower and was wondering what would be best, a blower or an heads and cam package of some sort, car has 93,000 on it and i live at 7,000 feet in altitude if that matters.
Thanx Eric

Well, you basically answered your own question. YOu asked for "reliable" horsepower. I can guarantee you at your mileage there ain't going to be anything reliable from a supercharger. I would go with a NICE set of heads and cam with all the valvetrain goodies for less than the cost of the blower. But if you want ot rebuild your engine soon and then do heads/cam just put the blower on.

like the guy before said, reliable would be with a nice heads/cam setup. not totally reliable but MORE reliable than a supercharger. i dont know how many guys i've talked to that had thier ring lands come off running a blower on lt1's after not so many miles depending on how hard they beat on it. and with your mileage honestly its time for some valvetrain maintenance anyway so heads cam is the way to go imho.

You are at high altitude..You lose huge power na.You can compensate for altitude by upping blower boost and or maybe even consider a turbo at your altitude. You might need to pull the engine and put in better pistons.maybe rods. You might have to pull engine anyway soon as your mileage is getting up there. At or near sea level the heads and cam and headers thing makes sense.Even at my 1900 altitude and worse on bad air days the heads cam/header ls1 cars only hit 12s or maybe a high 11.

I was going head /cam /headers on my ls1 but now will be going turbo.Turbo cars do very well at altitude as do blower cars.Cause you can up the boost.
