I think my oil intake pick-up fell off??
Ever since I put my Hot Cam kit in, I've notcied that my oil pressure has been a little funny...
Cold - Pressure is fine (for cold that is) pressure is 40 PSI @ Idle and at cruising speed is 60 PSI.
Warm - Once is get warm, things get kinds funny. Under acceleration, oil pressure is a little "sluggish" in inscreasing with RPM's. Once I get to a steady cruising speed, the pressure is steady. Example 2200 RPM holds steady @ 38-40 PSI. However it seems to fluctuate a little over bumps in the road and in turns. To me this says that my pickup may have fallen off, or is in the process of falling off. The motor has 72K miles. No funny noises, rod knock, valvetrain noise or anything. It's just the oil pressure seems a little off.
Could it also be my pressure sensor or is my motor really on it's way out??

I had a condition for about 2 years where my oil pressure would drop to 0 everytime I came to a short stop or took a fairly hard turn. Pressure would return fairly quickly and stay up during normal operation and so, although I always kept a very close eye on my oil pressure guage, I never did anything about it until I pulled the motor for my rebuild. Sure enough, when I removed the oil pan the pick up was just laying in there unattached to the pump! Talk about lucky. Literally drove around like that for a couple of years, running 6 psi of boost and nitrous and it never got worse and I only saw symptoms coming to a stop or taking a hard turn. .... Go Figure. Needless to say the pickup go tacked on to the new pump during the rebuild ;-)
