so my camaro has been down for about 5-6 months.
my current setup is:
Ported AFR 195cc LT4 heads
ported LT4 intake
1.6 roller rockers
Custm Cam : 617/636 244/244 @114
1000CFM throttle body
shorty headers...
Vig 3600 stall converter
i have a bad ECU.
im taking my car back to a local shop that usually gives me a good deal, im considering going back to semi stock, i might port the stock head or get a clean up on it if it isnt too much...
basically i want to swap the heads and cam that are on there for a ported stock set or just the stock set, and a smog legal cam.. thats gonna produce better numbers than the stock cam.
i need ideas on what cam would be radical enough to produce good hp, while staying smog legal on a stock / semi stock head.
keep in mind im keeping everything on my sig short the heads and cam.
im gonna sell the afr heads and cam if anyone wants them let me know, send me a offer. their in good condition and i am going to get them flowed when their off the car.

Did you Jump before you looked or what why would you get those heads and cam and then switch to smaller
Not trying to bash you I would try to work around it and keep what you have. Heck I wish you would of posted this 2 weeks ago I had everything you needed. I would of traded

well i thought about keeping the heads on there, and just going with some high hp smog legal cam, but then again they only have 750 miles on them. i could prolly get good $$$ for them and i still have all the stock parts. the only problem with the setup as it stands is that
1) it will never pass smog, and i dont have a smog hook up in california. so i cant ever register my car. or drive it on the street without getting it screwed with by the cops.. they fu** with me enough as it is....
2) i got a pcm from ed write, ive had it for maybe 6 months.. well apparently its a bad unit, the fule injector circut is bad along with something elese. so even if i was to reprogram it im still kinda screwed.. i get a checksum error too..
if i just replaced the chip it would run great.. but i cant ever drive it short of on the track legally..
i just want something i can drive around. i dont need it to be a drag setup, i just want it fast as can be and very streetable. i have nitrous also.
not to mention the cam i have. IMHO is rediculous, it revs out to 6500 + its lopy as all hell, in my opinion too damn lopy. i mean it was fun for about a week
its loud as hell.
the money i get back from the heads is going twards a paint job...
i have all the stock parts.. stock heads cam etc.

well that being said what are you goals for hp or et? then you could work out what parts you need to keep or sell.I guss I am lucky we dont have smog checks where I live. Maybe some of this stuff will help Smog leagel cams Good luck

ide like to see in excess of 360hp and run at least a low 12, which i figure is already possible since i have a 3600 stall converter and drag radials.
would it be best to have comp cams grind a custom?
or go with something like the cc305 or lt4hotcam?
