I need help!!! Gears, PCM, Engine Rev
ok, so you can see my mods in my sig....I recently had the 3.73's installed and the PCM tune was only done by a Hypertech Power Programmer. Pretty simple stuff. Well, since I installed the programming software and the 3.73's....my car seems to be driving quite a bit slower than it did when I had 2.73's. Once I hit 70mph the car is the slowest piece of **** on the face of the earth. I used to be able to fly from 70-140....now it takes me forever just to get from 70-100.
Should I raise my rev limiter and then raise my shift points so I'm in the power band a little better. Or is this just the horrible horrible downside of going to 3.73's?
from 70-90mph used to be second gear which would be 1.67x2.73...and now from 70/75-90 I'm in third giving me a 1.00x3.73 drive ratio? Is this pretty much the only reason? Is there anything I can do with my PCM and shift points to maybe get the engine into the power band a little more?

do you guys think if I reverted it back to stock (the pcm) with the exception of the speedo calibration that I'd notice a better result...
Also, why would the programmer slow the car down? If they manufactured these to increase power output, how could they decrease output? I mean, I know the hypertech programmers aren't that great, but how could they hurt the car in any way?

Probably not.
I'm guessing your shift points are happening too early making the car feel like a slug, I cant imagine hypertech knowing how to properly do the shift points. Its only good for speedo calibrations and such.
