i keep fouling the plugs!

i just added some svo 30# injectors and an aeromotive fuel regulator on my car and at the fuel setting bryan (pcmforless) told me (46#s) it seems to run ok at first but eventually will start to get a stutter and then run horrible after about 45min or so. Should i just back off the regulator some? does 46#s sound like alot? Help please

Are you setting the pressure with the vacuum compensation line disconnected from the regulator? That's how you would set it to 46psi, if that is what he told you to set it at... he must have set the injector constants based on that fuel pressure. Odd, since stock is 43.5psi, but if that's what he told you, that's what you need.

If you are setting the pressure with the vacuum line still connected to the regulator, you have the pressure too high, and that would add to the problem of fouling plugs.

A couple of other possible issues....

Every week or so there are people reporting serious problems with the Aeromotive AFPR's. Theres an active thread on the board right now. They really sound like a poor quality product, based on the large number of problems people have with them. Check to make sure the regulator is keeping the pressure where it belongs at all times.

Finally, what plugs are you running? A "too cold" plug will foul quickly.
