I hit the dyno today...

Sound performance had a special today, 2 runs for 45$. I have a 355 stock shortblock besides pistons, stock compression, BBK shortys, comp 305 cam, Crane valve springs, no cat, flowmaster 3 inch, and the stock computer, and a K&N CAI. I put down 310 HP . I was extremely pleased. The only problem was that my afrs were at 11.4 pig rich. Why is the car dumping so much fuel. It seems to me that the stock fuel system must be able to support big horsepower. I couldnt get a torque reading they told me that it's too much of a hassle with an auto car??? Any of you have similar mods and numbers for comparison?

Sound Performance is about 10 min. from my house. Installed my shorties about 10 years ago. Anyways, when I stopped in a couple of years ago, they had a dyno put in, a mustang dyno. That's why your #s might be a little low when comparing them to other cars with the same mods. And yes, you should have your AF adjusted.

Definitely get the car tuned and take it from there. You're numbers are definitely lagging behind other cam-only LT1s.

It's just amazing what these places tell people! A dynometer read/measures torque, which is then converted to HP. To say they cann't get a torque reading means the thing aint working.

I agree, horsepower is calculated from torque. I went with two other guys and my buddies car is a manual and they gave him torque and HP. Would my car benifit from a 52mm throttle body, or is my setup too mild to require the extra air?
Thanks.

You would probably see some improvement with a bigger throttle body, if a few extra horsepower is worth the cost, then go for it. Another option would be to have your stock throttle body ported to a 52mm which would be a little cheaper.

If you were to put a nice set of heads on your motor, then I would say yes to the 52mm TB. Other wise no, but thats just my opinion. Sorry to hear that they short changed you on your pulls. I do know those guys know how to make some big HP with the foreign cars. As in turbo charged. I think one of their Supras held some kind of record, and the last time I was there I asked what kind of HP a turbo motor they had sitting on an engine stand was capable off. Answer was, a little over 1000hp and it was going into a Lexus.

Dude you should be way faster than what you have in your sig. I went 13.2 at 106 on 255 street tires with the comp 305, CAI, BBK shortys and a flowmaster, on the stock program. I bet that 306 sounds nasty...
