Take it to the dyno and run it. Then have someone who knows what they are doing try to tune it. If the power isn't there, they should be able to diagnose it.

You have all the parts, you just need to find out the weak link - for example, I don't see bigger injectors in there. My injectors ran out of steam costing me lots of power. When I put 30s in along with LTs (over shorties), I gained 40rwhp.

Stock 24# injectors are great injectors for a bolt on or mildly cammed LT1...They're good to 350 rwhp from what I've read (someone correct me if I'm wrong) if you're making more than that you're pushing them too hard...Injectors could be a big problem...also check your fuel filter...how's your fuel pump??? Plugs and wires I assume are good??? You should be running much quicker times...Have you checked your computer to make sure you're not throwing any codes?

don't sweat it. there are always a lot of little bugs to get worked out on an engine buildup like that. you should have owned both of those cars by 10 car lengths with your setup. probalby something little like injectors, tuning, etc.

Don't worry my buddies car has the same problem. We were expecting it to trap 120mph in the quarter, but it seems to be a dud. Tuning isn't really the problem either has he has FAST and we can put in any AF ratio that we want. I personally feel that the XE cams are junk on lt1's. There is a reason that most cams for these cars have a big split in duration. My 306 with shorties, mail tune and stock gears went 112 and that is all my buds car can do with a 396 w/lts, big cam, stage 3 heads, FAST and alot of badass stuff. Who knows maybe it will get fast all of a sudden, but i doubt it. Maybe he will swap in a 306 and we will be able to see which cam is really better.

All I have to say is you guys have problems. And to the guy with the 396 don't blame the cam, many people use the XE 236/242 with major success. It's obviously somebody doin a little *** scratchin.

It sounds like your 396 is a fresh build-up, and in my opinion you shouldn't be racing it yet without the proper break-in period. I hope you get it worked out, it seems like you have all of the right stuff for it to be a real screamer! ;-)

Sorry about my last reply...I don't know why I wrote that your motor is a 396, I meant 377. Anyhooo, how's your clutch, is there a slight chance that your motor may have been assembled too tight maybe? I have heard of that being a problem for some before.
