Talking I have a question for ya

Well i am getting a rebuild kit for my car but i want to get something good. I have heard alot about forged pistions and how good they are, but what are they really and how do they differ from regular pistions? Will they hurt a stock motor if i were to put them in?

Oh one more, anyone have a good suspention set up that they would recomend would also help.

www.nu-tekmotorsports.com has everything you need for a rebuild.

Forged pistons are stronger and more durable especially with nitrous or a supercharger.

But you have to give them a bit more space because they expand a bit when they heat up.

what kind of suspension are you lookin for?
spirited driving/road race/autoX:
subframe connectors, strut tower brace, springs (don't want to lower it look into 1le), shocks, lower control arms, panhard bar and some good tires (firehawk sz50 are my top choice). all my suspension stuff is BMR and i am VERY pleased with it's quality, price and service.

drag racing:
sfc, drag shocks, drag springs or V6 spings, lca and relocation brackets, torque arm and drag radials...

I never knew that a pistion can expand do only forged pistions do that? To answer the other question i am looking for a steet suspention set up. I saw the slp level one suspention and i thought it was pretty good for what im getting but thats just me. Anyone have any feedback for both questions?

As far as getting a good rebuild kit you'll have to tell us what kind of rebuild you're doing and what it will be used for, and give us a budget to work with. as for the expansion, what gripe ment is that they expand more than hyperutectics( like the lt1 comds with stock) so the piston to cylinder wall clearance has to be slightly larger. if this is a hi po build up with a pretty good budget i can make you some recommendations right now as far as short block goes. get the longest rods that will work in your application and have the heads milled and use dished pistons (makes more power at same comp ratio). and if you're rebuilding i assume that something has gone wrong with your stock short block. but if it hasnt... people have gotten over 140k+ miles out of the stock one with no problems.
