I started the car up today...a 97Z28......and about a minute later it just turned off.....just as if i had turned the key off. But now when i turn the key on....it doesnt get power to any of the things that is supposed to have power..like the gauges or the starter. The wires that are supposed to have power only when the key is on....Dont have any power at all on them when the key is on....Is their a fuse or a main power relay that i may have blown?

 

do your headlights and radio work?

 

Headlights work but the radio doesnt. I just changed out the ignition switch about a month ago. I checked the power plug that plugs into the top of the steering column....and it has power going to it...

 

Check and make sure that your connector on the power plug is bent up enough to make sufficient contact. That was my problem and I had the same symptoms
