its pretty common. most people just go with a 2pt. because its easier to install.

I have a 3 peice from Edelbrock. I felt a difference in the way it cornered. I also heard that auto cross people don't like them, because you are talking the chance of it cracking your windsheild by going through all the twisties. It mounts to the cowl under the windshield.

Bingo.

BMR Fabrications website says exactly that, they only offer 2-pt.

I got the 3-pt from LG Motorsports, but didn't do the drilling to bolt the center to the cowl.

A 3 point gives you the benefit of triangulation. It definately adds stability and strength. But if you plan on autocrossing in a street prepared class, that STB will make you illegal. That pinch weld at the cowl isn't going to flex. I use to have an '80 TA with Herb Adams control arm to cowl bars. It really aided in reducing chassis flex.

Definitely nothing new.... I've had the LG Motorsports brace of similar design on my Formula for 7 years, and yes, the rear mount is bolted to the cowl, and no, I haven't broken the windshield.

I've had a Kenny Brown 3 pointer for years now. No problems so far.
