I have money, but I don't know where to spend it.
How much would it cost roughly to have a car running about 750-800hp at the wheels. Right now I have about $8000 to spend, but I have no idea where to put it. I allready have intake/catback/header, but I want to start making some seriouse hp. I realize it is going to cost more than $8000, but how much more. What would you do if you were me at this point? I am hopping to have a 383/396 + N20 to get there. What is a good starting point?

I was hopping for a little over 500 hp N/A, then maybe do a 250 shot. As for FI, It is going to cost a lot more, I also have heard bad things about SC's wear and tear. Turbo is going to be even more expensive, plus I allready have LT headers. Does this sound too unreasonable?
500hp is kind of a rare thing, from what ive seen but i have only been on this board for a little while. i havn't heard of too much going rong with superchargers the only problems are with the stock internals in our motors. you said you wanted a stroker for it so you won't have a problem
The only problem is, I really have no idea what this project is going to cost. Maybe you could give me an estimate, so I could have a set money goal to save up to, and then start getting my hands dirty.
Having tons of HP/TQ doesn'dt mean squat if you can't use it.
First question should be: Race or Street or Both?
Example: If I were going build a Street/Racer on an F-Body plat, I'd build a 396 Balanced and Forged bottom end. Add some killer heads, with a streetable cam, light weight valve train w/ RRs (titanium retainers). Then assuming I have around 425-450 RWHP...
Put it to the ground with the T 56 with 410s and a 12 Bolt w/ C- clip delete. Some good suspension mods and gripping tires.
If you don't want to reduce the CR for SC or Turbo, add NOS for those rare times when you run up against something special.
What else would I need to go from lite to lite in grand fashion w/o having to rebuild my engine and/or rear end on a regular basis? JMHO
