Pm me with a figure and we will see about freight.

if you do anything with it, pressure test the block first. it may been an oil passage that cracked in the block that caused the lost of oil pressure, or do you already know what caused the oil pressure problem? i only say that because i have seen it before on a LT1 block

no, it would be internal. an engine building machine shop should be able to pressure test it for you. it entails plugging all the water jacket passages and pressurizing the blocking through one of them to like 5 psi or so and seeing how long it holds. call the machine shop first to make sure.

Well, I noticed the pressure drop about a week before it totally dropped. I thought it was the oil I had used.
So I week later I'm on the highway and hear death. "knock." Saw my oil pressure was shot. I wasnt on the throttle or driving it hard that day; it just happened. So what I'm thinking is the pump went out, like an idiot I ignored the signs and this is the end result. Is there a way to test the pump instead?
What do you consider heavy n20?

DON'T WASH it first. Probably those famous GM brgs with no left over duty cycles left. They do the job for a stocker but anything over stock HP and REVS that they are short lived

WTF are you guys smoking.
$13k on just the engine is outragous, and so is $7,000 for a used 383 lt1. I sold my 383 longblock with the le2 package for less than $3500 and it only had 1200 miles on the motor and it ran a 11.78 at 115.6 on a shakedown pass. That setup had 11.1x's at 12x+mph in it no problem once I would've got it dialed in. IMO sell the block and find a 4 bolt block to build up if your wanting to build one. Also unless your going extremely insanse, just build a 355.

WTF--broke your 3500.00 motor on it's first pass????
You will never know what it had in it cause it BLEW UP. It's got a bunch of junk part's in it now.
That's why ya spend the money up front so you can still run next week and not have to be working on it,or selling(giving)it away because it ain't WAF anymore. 10-12-15,000 will get ya in the game.

The machine shop that built that motor was CRAP IMO, it had nothing to do with the parts used or the amount of money spent.
I still don't think you need $10k+ to build a motor UNLESS you are going extremely nuts, which would be single digits IMO.

The bottom line is your short dollar motor BLEW UP. The fix for that would have been a 300.00 chain set,the proper one.
I have over 15,000 in mine and that's just what's on the engine stand.
How does a 10.50 sound in a 3700lb car on DR's.(I think it will be there)
So ya get what ya pay for and if ya want to run hard and be to the line every time ya are called it will take cubic bucks.
BTW it's on pump gas and street driven, all motor. Not exotic either,23* heads and GM EFI intake,on the factory computer.
It's just a matter of how fast ya want to go and stay together.
To each his own opinion, but I build engines in my little hole in the wall shop and I have a pretty good idea what it takes and what it costs. My customers don't mind paying as long as they don't have to tear it down every week and its fast enough for them.
I've got dirt track sprint car engines that run 3-5 night's a week and go all season with a plug check, valve adj and oil changes, they cost way more than 20,000 dollars starting from scratch.
