Hey Iraqi, I did the same ....spun bearing also, and like you I need an everyday car. But like someone said for the price it wont cost you much more to make it a 383. Thats what I did and just added a Hot cam to keep it mellow and reliable. Still gonna kick some a--. Only problem I ran into was when I upgraded the motor everything else had to go with it. But IMO I cant see pulliing a motor and buildin it back to what it was. Might as well get something outta it.

Mir, sup dude. I think your car is possessed or something. When its not one thing, its another. lol

Personally, I would just buy another shortblock and swap it. If you rebuild the shortblock, there are many hidden and unexpected costs, especially if you rebuild it with a cam, etc.

But thats just me.

Whatever you do decide, think it through very carefully. I know once its done, many regret doing/not doing one thing or the other while there.

Hit me up at davezlt1@hotmail.com if u have any questions buddy.

motor

I wouldnt go to ARE they are to pricey for my blood. For what they quoted me for a 383 short block with stock rods and cheapo pistons i bult my 383 with forged H beams, forged srp pistons, and had money left over. I defanetly wouldnt go there for a stock rebuild.

if your mechanicly inclined you could build one for way less hey i got the parts here to bulid you a stock rebuild for way less.

Cool

So what route did you go? You got the car back; is it up and running after you take care of the rocker?
