I am aware of the power levels it takes....but there is more to a car than the power it makes...combination is key.

If he does run 10's at that mph, great, that is a good goal.

Very nice! I like the valve covers. How do you like the Dynatechs? How is the ground clearance?

Of course it is, but when trying to run an ET as efficiently as possible a manual transmission is the monkey wrench. Once again, if it can run 10's with the weight listed at that mph then that's badass and I'll be taken aback.

If this car ever hits the 10, then that would be great. Our original goal was mid to low 11's which is within reach. Future plans for the car call for a tubular cross member and a-arms. Also a softer spring and QA1 shocks should improve on the cheap KYB GR-2s on it now. Also a skinny/full slick setup may be in the future, but we'll see.

Thanks for all the compliments. As you can tell, I am very pleased with the entire setup and build.

I hope to get the 60fts quite a bit lower with the addition of the added suspension components that Ricky mentioned in the above post. I never had 10's in mind when we were building the car, but it could happen. The tranny is still stock so I hope that it holds up for quite awhile until it needs some work.

Tireburnin: I am happy with how everything turned out. A.I. was always great to work with along with Ricky and his partner. Luckly I was able to be there and put in a helping hand most of the time work was being down to the motor/car.

Slomarao: As Ricky said, it is not that bad at all on the street. Just some slight surging and bucking. Besides at slow speeds, I can sometimes notice it when driving around town at 2 grand (usually 35-40mph) It does not bother me at all, but it could if your real picky about it.
The only time it annoyed me when I was on the Power Tour and getting stuck in stop and go traffic at 5mph for 2 hours one day. That was horrific.

I really like the valve covers too except for there clearance. It wasn't pretty as Ricky mentioned in one of his posts. I like the Dynatechs. No complaints except for one spark plug is really rough to get too. They were on the car when I bought them and ground clearance is not an issue. I actually have more trouble with the BMR Track Pak b/c it has a bar that hangs down and goes door to door, which the torque arm mounts too.

I will try to keep you guys update as more changes are made to the car and I get back out to the track in the spring. I am getting married in May. Who knows how much money I will be able to put into the car again before spring rolls around.

Good job with the car. I spoke to you the other night at the track when I broke my 12-bolt. That car definately has some serious topend pull

you may need some 4.30's or even 4.56's and the shock spring combo but it think from your trap speed 10's are possible. Where do you shift at? right under 7k im guessing

Thanks. I have around 20 passes on the 12 bolt and so far so good. Hopefully it can handle the abuse when i start to lower my 60fts. Your right about the top end too. It still amazes me everyday how hard it pulls.

Yep, around 6800ish on the stock tach. I would be little afraid of going with some taller gears because I do drive the car a good amount through the week & long trips. Also, I would definitely have to go with a taller tire because I am close to red line in 4th when I am crossing the line.

very cool sounding package so far.

I fall in the "I think it'll run low 11's" club.

as for the gears, if you switched to 4:56 gears or maybe 4:33's, and a 28" tall tire, it would be pretty close to the same overall gearing as what you already have, EXCEPT the good part is, much larger contact patch with the ground, and softer sidewall to absorb more of the drivetrain shock from a very hard launch. end result should be better traction close to same gearing. just a thought.

Ive found the difference ea. .1 makes in the 60 = .15 in ET. thats at the mid-high 11 sec. level. may be diff. with more power I guess. even that puts you near 11.10 by getting down to a very realistic goal of 1.5x 60foot's.

good luck man. make sure to repost in spring when you hit the track again and start wittling down that ET.

Good news!

Had me freaking because you posted yesterday but said the other night. You meant 'when I spoke to you over a month ago'

By the way Grease/Darkhorse, I went up against Handyman in the Caprice 2 out of the 4 runs. He was running around 12.0 at 113-15. I didn't realize at first who it was and I did not have a chance to talk to him.
I wonder if he liked seeing my tail lights both times?

LOL - hey Josh he told me you guys raced. I'll razz him tomorrow - 'Those F-body guys still smacking you around'

Car is running great dude, your mph is enough for low 11's with mid/low 1.6 60's.

Grease is right behind you too, he's got some plans for next year but I don't think it's anything crazy. Hoping he runs points with us - that's where the fun is
