i got me a used programer and i plug it in and it says something about a vin misread or something that i have to set the vehicle back to stock setting before setting it again for my car if any one has a clue how to do it please help me i just want to set the rev limiter and tire size and thats all please help

 

you bought a programmer that someone else used and did not program back to stock, basically you have a paper weight, do a search there are some people that can re flash these back to factory settings, i dont know what they charge

 

Ya im sorry to say it but that things junk to you. Its setup so that it can only program 1 car at a time. So you dont buy one and do all your buddies cars for free. Only way to make it work on another car is to go back to the original car it was put on and change it back to stock, then you can go and program your car with it. If you know where the person you got it from lives id go have a chat with them. Good luck. Sorry to hear you got one that wont work for you man.

 

Sorry to hear about it. It also happened to me years ago and Hypertech was not helpful at all. (actually I should say rude)
Either way, if you cannot get the issue solved with the seller, you can get it repaired through me - $45 shipped.
