Thnx guys. It seems like most ppl think it's a good idea to put the 160 thermo in. As soon as I get my overheating prob fixed, mainly the fans actually need to WORK, I'll put some time and money into the 160 deal. Right now I'm just running the heaters on MAX to keep the engine out of the red zone, so the last thing I need right now is loss of the heaters! I want to save up for a K&N Filter before I get the manual fan switch though.

bleed out the system first and see if that fixes the heating problem. As for the manual fan switch, don't buy the SLP. You can make your own for $6 bucks...that's all what cost me to do mine.

another mod to consider in conjunction with the thermostat is the fan switch mod. I did the nice one with dual LEDs for $20. You can buy them for $90 but I like twidgeting with stuff. It is an awesome mod, I have full control of my fans and temp therefore. On a hot day at the track I can run my fans full blast and keep my temp below 180 between runs. On a really hot day stuck in traffic with the AC blowing I can keep it close right at 180 which is fantastic for these already hot running cars. Something to consider. Do a search for "fanswitch mod" or something like that and you'll find the links to build this switch.

all it invovles is tapping into two wires, low and hight. A center off switch and three 47ohm 1w, a 1/2w will works also, resistors. Just some wire and bam ya done. No special tools, just a drill for the switch. You can find the wiring diagram on your search. As for the LED's, I didn't op to do that but that's an option

How does that method mentioned in the second post of that link sound? It sounds simple enough if it actually works..

I thougth about doing that through the fuse box, but tapping into the relays on the pass side was easier. Don't have to find a place to run the wire on the driver side and plus it doesn't involve having to take the fuse box out.
