how in the f#$@ do you get the tranny back in with the street twin????????

Last night I did about everything imaginable to get this tranny back in this car I do not know why it wont go in I have taken the tranny in and out of this car numerous times and have never encountered anything like this!!! This clutch in a mother f@#$er to get the tranny through I have put the alignment tool in the clutch about 5 times to make sure the splines were lined up correctly

Could somebody please give me some advice on how to get this thing in im about to go insane

Im on my back with the car on jack stands
I have a tranny jack and 2 floor jacks to work with

The tranny will start to go through the clutch and then it just stops and wont go in any farther like its hitting a brick wall

please help I dont want to tow this thing across town just to put this thing on a lift but i will if i have to

thanks for any help

check your pm's.. are you sure your pushing the alignment tool all the way through? should go in all the way till at least the bottom of the throwout bearing.. Are you sure you are trying to insert the tranny straight? and when you **** it your not moving one of the disks?? i use a actual input shaft when i do mine.. Which i have forgotten for this install i'm doing on sunday but.. anyway gimmie a call.. ttyl

It wasn't a Street Twin but I had a similar experience. I learned that the alignment tool had a lot of slop in it and in reality it wasn't centering the disk very well. With the alignment tool in, i wiggled it up and down and felt the relationship of the disk to the plate around all edges with my fingers. I got it a lot closer that way and the trans just slipped in.
