How would i test my electric water pump?

How would i test my electric water pump?

i need to check my electric water pump to see if it's working. How big of a power source do i need to see if it starts up?

12vt........ Just plug the power wire to the battery and the neg. to the negative post. I beleive it is not a good thing to run one dry for too long however, so dont let it run long at all

k good deal. i was gonna hook it to my battery but i didn't know if that was too much of a power source. Guess i'll give it a try and see what happens! Thanks guys

Power supply should be capable of supplying at least 10amps at 12V.

Too much? No such thing if you are using the car's battery.

This is why I always use dual-post batteries... the side posts run the car, the top posts are great for testing 12v items (like bulbs, pumps, etc..)

Use 14 AWG or better wire, a fuse holder, and aligator clips for the "test side", and ring terminals for the top post. heat-shrink the wires together is a nice touch... voila, life-long 12v tester.
