Question How would I go about de-sensitize the Knock sensor on my '93? HELP !!

I've got the suspicion that my knock sensor is picking up false knock. I've been doing a lot of reading and from what I've learned, thing's like 1.6 roller rocker's, loud exhaust systems and vibration can all cause the knock sensor to pull out timing and cost power.

I have 1.6 roller rocker's. They're noisy.
I have Jet hot Long Tube's, no cat and Borla (no plate) It's VERY NOISY.
I have an LT4 Hot cam (the motor can't sit still) and all the bushing's in the suspension have been replace with polyurathan. The car's got A LOT of vibrations.

I run my car on 94 octane all the time so I'm sure I'm not getting any real knock. My question is, how would I go about desensiting the KM?
(I've already seen the site's that explain how to do it by cutting or splicing various wire's and such but I DONT want to that. I'm not very good with wiring and I don't want to screw anything up.)

I was thinking more on the lines of removing and modifying the factory one with tape or something to reduce its sensitivity or possibly removing it all together (I know, I know...) What would happen if I just dis-connected it? Or what if I were to just remove the knock sensor and wrap it up with something and tuck it away somewher under the car and just throw on another KS. on the block (just to fill the opening) ?

Thank's in advance.

Thanks, but like I said I don't work well with wire's so I'd be much better off doing something to the sensor itself. I just read somwhere that wrapping the thread of the KS with teflon tape or past would work well. Also, to tighten the KS to about 10-12 foot pounds (stock is 14-16?). Has anyone tried this? What were the results? I think it'd be much easier (for me anyway's) to go this route rather than risk cuting the wrong wire or something. I'm sure the "circuit method" would work, but I'm really worried about messing with wires.

It sounds like you are looking for a way to fix a problem that you don't even know if you have and you want to modify an electronic device by mickey mouse methods instead of a proven logical modification.
Maybe you should just leave it alone at least until you know if it needs "adjustment" and if it does, find someone who can help you do it right. I don't think your other methods will make any difference.
