how to use torque wrench?

how to use torque wrench?

the title says it all, im ashamed borrowed them off a buddy, and thought theyd be easy to figure out. i dont have a clue theyre the break away type . crash course please anyone thanks.

Very simple. Unlock the lock and turn the handle to where you want it. For example, if you're looking for 80 ft. lbs., turn the handle until the index mark reads "0" up to the 80 ft. lb. mark. Each mark should represent either 5 or 10 ft. lbs. on the scale past zero, i.e., if you're two marks past 80 pounds, you're sitting on 90 ft. lbs.

And NEVER force the wrench past the break-away point that you've set as a good rule of thumb.

Also don't forget to reset the wrench back to 0 when your done with it. Never leave it torqued!
