How to use seafoam?

Ive done searches and i keep finding different things on using seafoam from sucking it through some tube to spraying it in the throttle body and putting it in the gas tank. How do I use it? Is there a way I can protect my o2 sensors?

to protect the o2 sensor, just take it out while using the seafoam. yes, this seafoam can be used in vacuum lines, fuel, and even in the oil. its awesome stuff.

When added through an intake vaccum line it steam cleans the intake and stuff. You'll actually see the carbon dripping out of the exhaust sometimes. When added to the oil (only half a can) it will brake up the sludge and clean all the oiled internals. But this can only be done right before an oil change and you shouldn't drive it, just let it idle. It works really good! I have to go to NAPA to get it.

Get the motor hot. put it in through a small vacuum line, and then drive it right away and keep the RPMS around 3000. i've used it dozens of times and never hurt an O2. In fact, the seafoam it self may help clean the O2s. But I guess carbon may get stuck in the o2s. But they if they are hot I doubt it.

Well, this is what I've done since day one. Seafoam can be found at NAPA and Carquest. First off, I've noticed on some Z28's that the engine will die when the brake booster line is removed. This can be fixed by unplugging the MAF which will cause the RPMs to shoot up a bit. I use a full can through the brake booster line every 10,000 miles or so.

Approximately 3/4 of the can should be poured into the line. Do this slowly as to not stall out the engine. Use the last 1/4 of the can to stall it out. With the RPMs this high it may be difficult to stall out the engine. Best bet would be to have a person in the driver's seat ready to shut the engine off. So.....make sure that the engine stalls out WITH seafoam in the cylinders.

Let the car sit for approximately 15-20 minutes. Plug the MAF and brake booster line back in. In the meantime, seafoam also makes a throttle body cleaner called Deep Creep. I use this 15-20 minutes to thoroughly clean out the TB. I open the blades up and brush the cars teeth (so to speak). Wipe it out real well with a towel, its not a big deal if some is left over in the TB. Hook everything back up and start the car. It will be difficult to start. Just keep cranking and work the gas pedal. Take it through the most crowded classy neighborhood you can find and fog the hell out of it. Make sure you get on it a bit. Don't stop driving until you blow it all out. You will notice a difference as soon as you start driving. Trust me.... This would also be a good time to replace the O2 sensors. Some people have said that seafoam fouls out the O2's which makes sense, but I've never had a problem I swear by the stuff. Every 10,000 miles since day one. 163,000 miles to date. Doesn't burn a drop of oil. Purrs like a kitten..... Good Luck!
