how to tell if intake leak fix worked???

what the title says? how the hell can u tell? is it in the best interest to remove the egr valve too? i just have a cap of the vac line of it and everything else is gone.. i just dont want the egr valve to heat up if it does and ruin this crap again....

Feel behind the intake, if there is no more oil then you fixed it. I just did mine a few weeks ago and I didn't take any thing off, just wraped the EGR tube with heat tape. It's doing fine so far.
