i was wondering if getting (whaterver)X8.5 or larger, will help with proformance in any way or is just for looks?
i found some realy sweet wheels but they are 18x8
im unsure if i should go for these or go for something bigger (not realy concired about apearence. but more about proformance)
also just to be sure, 17 is the rims diamiter and the 8.5 is its width...right??

tires dont make you faster, but the wider the rears, the more contact patch which ='s better traction

 

the more low profile your tires are worse they are for the strip. The 18's would be a bad idea for performance i believe unless you do alot of cornering then the 18's will shine

 

What Z95 plus you gotta look at normal cost of tires, and a bit of extra weight, but hell i say go for it look at a new vette there running 18's no probs.
