How should this engine be balanced?

I have a cast eagle crank, which was stated on a website to use an external balance. I am also using forged eagle H beam rods and SRP pistons, everything was bought seperate. How should this stuff be balanced?

Might wanna talk to the machine shop first. I was going with the cast crank on my rebuild 2 months ago. The machinist said they were having problems with balancing the cast cranks. They were coming in way off balanced and there was a lot of heavy metal needed to balance the crank. Heavy metal costs like 80 bucks a pop. Mine woulda cost more than a Forged crank just to balance.

All one piece rear main seal style cranks were designed by the OEM to be externally balanced. To do internally sometimes will not work. Talk to the folks at Nu-tek. They eat, sleep and breath LT1's. Mine was done internally and it was a pain in the A@#.

BTW externally balancing is not done just at the flywheel. It is also done on the bob-weights.

Mine is setup to use a flywheel/flexplate with the stock external balance. Saved over $400 in labor and costs for "Mallory metal".

well duhh bobweights go on the crank to simulate the pistons and rods so you know what it needs to be balence out but weight is only taken or added to flywheel

Sorry Mac but I can send you several cranks that have weight reduction or addition on the bob weights as well as the flywheel. Good shops balance not just the flywheel. Sorry to hear about your shop though.

sorry jose gonzolaz( now pay attention) the bob weights are the apratise that you put on the crank journels to simulate rods and pistons. yes you can take out or add weight to the crank which is known as "internal balence". you with me so far jose? now to external its set up to concentrate on the flywheel to balence out know as "external balence" dont try to school me thats why you pay and i get my work done for free as like you said my family does own a machine shop
