Putting in new IAC, need to know how to set it. Pinion depth, counts after start up? This is in a 396 with 230 degree duration cam idleing around 950. ANy help would be appreciated.

I am talking about when you get a new one, what are the mesurements and procedure for putting one in. ALso, what counts should be read when running hot and cold.

Increase voltage on the IAC? Are you sure you are not referring to something else?

I went to the Golen website, and they have you open the throtle blades for better idle, but you need to adjust the TPS, which mine is adjustable, to compensate for opening the blades, so you need to go down/up depending on what happens

 

I assume you will be watching voltage while you adjust, so just turn it whichever way makes the change you desire.
