How to replace Opti

Can anyone give me a rough play by play how to do this. Does the timing need to be reset like on the old cars? Help please

Changing the opti can be pretty difficult if you dont have much experience with the LT1. First make sure youve got plenty of time on your hands, because it CAN take a while, Ive done it about 3 times already so i can pull it off in about 2 hours probably. When you go to put the new opti on look at the back of the wheel on the opti, there should be 3 differant grooves around the wheel. 2 of them should be rounded and the other one should be squared off. When you go to put the new opti back on there is a peg sticking out the the camshaft where the opti was takin off, just match that peg up with the square groove on the opti wheel and you should be set as far as the timing goes. Hopes this helps, if you need any more information then just ask. Also the opti changes that i have done were on 95's so i dont know what year your car is or if its differant.
