I want to replace my steering wheel with a new one. Florida sun toasted the current one. I know there's four screws on the back, but what precautions or need to knows are there on removing the airbag. Please, someone who's done it before. I don't want the thing blowing in my face.

 

If you have a Haynes or Chilton Manual, it will tell you how.

 

First, disconnect ground from battery. Wait a few minutes to let any residual charge dissapate.

Then remove screws from back of steering wheel.

Carefully pull airbag out of steering wheel, and unplug wires from behind.

To reinstall, do opposite.

Should be pretty basic.

ALWAYS be careful and do not sit with your face directly in front of the thing, you don't want to risk it. Pull it out of the wheel while standing or sitting to the side of the bag.
