how to remove fuel from the tank?

Hi,

I got my engine running, and now I am working on the fuel pump. I already dropped the rear end. The problem is that I have full tank of gas, and I cannot run my car for long time yet, don't have alternator hooked up. Maybe anyone knows a way to drain the gas tank. I tried sticking a hose in the tank, but it didn't go in.

Thanks,
Tomas

There's a fuel pump test wire located on the passenger side fender somewhere. I think it's red. All you do is diconnect the fuel line at the filter, put 12v on the wire and drain into container.
I've never looked for the wire. But I think I heard in was all by itself.

There is a pic of the prime connector on my Tech Page. It is grey on the 1995. If the pump still works you could disc the filter and pump the contents into a container.

Yes, the pump still works, and I will just try draining the fuel by disconnecting the fuel filter.

Thanks a lot,
Tomas

I changed my gastank without removing the rear end, you just gota disconnect one end of the the panhard bar and then remove the upper panhard mount brace thingy

trey beat me to it. disconnect your filter and run a hot wire to your fuel pump. I just replaced my filter the other day and I leaked a little gas out but I did a pretty good job (hahaha, I mean GOD that is a hard job to do and all)
