How To Put On Serptine Belt And Service Transmission . . .

i have a 1996 camaro z28 with an lt1 . i would like to put the serptine belt and service the transmission myself . i am a novice . please give complete details on how to do or pics . i have a complete tool set and drive up ramps . any and all help is appreciated . thanks jay

Look under the front of the engine. On the passenger side, there's a tensioner for the serpentine belt. Use a breaker bar with the correct size socket, on the center bolt. Rotate the breaker bar clockwise to release the tension in the belt. At that point the belt will practicaly fall off. Refer to the belt diagram on the radiator cover to reinstall.

What "service" do you want to do on the tranny - fluid, filter, gaskets? A4 or M6? Probably best to post that as a separate question on the "Drivetrain" forum.
