The '95 is OBDI, with an OBDII connector. You'll need an OBDI code reader/scan tool with the proper cable to connect to the OBDII connector.

TTT What do the majority of you 1995 owners use to check your codes? I used to work at a dealership, but since I no longer do I cannot check the codes ):

A laptop, freescan, and the correct connector to go from the serial or usb port of the laptop to the OBDII style port on a 95.

Re: How to pull codes on a 1995 lt1?

buy the guy at teh dealership a case of beer for free computer reads...worked for me.

autozone was rude about it, the lady tried telling me i had an OBD2 car bc it was a 95. i said "it could be if it had dual cats but its not a california car so its OBD1." she argued with me for about 10 minutes til she realized that the OBD2 reader wouldnt work, i said told you so and she got pissed and told me to go to the dealership...btw, she drove an LS1 TA. hahahha

but try the dealership, if they're cool about it, they'll take the 5 min to read your computer as long as you dont abuse them being nice about it.

other than that, what ^^^ he said. get the connecter and freescan on a laptop. tell ya everything you need to know.

All 1995 LT1 f-body cars were OBD-I (dual cats or not).

I got my 95 scanned with a ob2 scanner. It was a ob1 computer with a ob2 plug. It all depends on when your car was made.

No it doesn't. All 1995's, including the dual-cat CA emissions A4 cars are OBD-I PCM with an OBD-II ALDL connector. The guys that sell the cables, the guys that developed LT1_Edit, etc have NEVER found an OBD-II 1995.

For those who think there were some OBDII '95 V8 F-bodies, here's a link to the GM OBDII diagnostics. See any '95 V8 F-bodies listed?

The 95's used only the OBDI computer. Some of the earlier 95's still used the OBDI style connector under the dash, but the later ones used the OBDII style under the dash. I'm not sure on the build date of my car, but I do have the OBDII style connection under my dash, but for sure have an OBDI computer.

This is what I was saying sorry for all of the confusion. I just know when I took my car to autozone they had a OBD2 connection and it fit onto my connection. I wasent saying that I have a OBD2 computer. Sorry for the mixup.
