how much psi can the stock fuel pump handle?
I'm just curious cuz I need to know if the stock fuel pump can handle like 10 extra psi for a boosted application...
or am i going to need a inline fuel pump...
whats the max output on them?

Re: how much psi can the stock fuel pump handle?
When I was running a stock LT1 with a 6# Vortech, I was seeing nearly 80 psi at 6K rpm. The stock pump can't "feed" the system at those pressures. I found this out when my fuse blew (I didn't know it blew until later) on my in-line T-Rex fuel pump...the car would "bog" badly when I leaned on it due to lack of fuel. I suggest you play it safe and add an in-line fuel pump design to handle the higher fuel pressures (like a T-Rex) and a fuel pressure gauge to allow you to monitor your fuel (cheap insurance).

i have a fuel pres gauge right now....
so if its the 'volume' u gotta worry bout, how much can an inline pump help? help me out a lil bit pls, maybe i'm misinformed bout the whole thing?
another Q i have is where does the inline fuel pump goes?

Re: how much psi can the stock fuel pump handle?
The T-Rex in-line pump is designed to flow well at higher pressures. If you look at fuel pump specs, that list they flow values at a certain fuel pressure. Since the stock LT1 pump normally only sees 43 psi pressure max, it's flow will decrease as the pressure increases. The in-line pump is placed "in-line" between the output of your fuel tank and the fuel filter. When I ran one (before upgrading to a larger in-tank pump), I mounted mine in the well above the rearend, mounted to the back side of the backseat sheet metal. Sometimes you can find a used T-Rex pump on ebay; the cost $200 new from Vortech.

An in-line pump is a band-aid, your still going to be limited by the capabilities of the in-take stock pump. And also, if the in-line pump is not on, the in-tank pump will have to work twice as hard because of the dead in-line pump is a huge restriction...hence why someone above mentioned when they blew a fuse they found out the stocker couldn't supply enough fuel.
Do it once and do it right and upgrade the in-tank pump. Why do you think people are selling the in-line pumps after they have a good in-tank pump? For a $150 Walbro in-tank you can't go wrong.
