how much power loss if engine is running rich

Just completed my heads and cam install and have put about 50miles on engine and it smells like it is running rich. The engine idles good and doesn't smoke out the tailpipe or anything but it just smells rich and it seems a bit sluggish at lower rpms. Just wondering how much power I might be loosing and what the consequences are of driving a car too rich. Thanks.

i believe running rich can help foul your o2 sensors. id definatly get a tune for your head/cam if i were you. better to spend the money on a tune to max the performance of your combo rather than having to buy new o2 sensors down the road some time.

It can definiitely cost you some power. It could also cost you a shortblock if you continue to run it and the rich problem is severe enough.
