Having a brain freeze. How much more lift is gained from 1.6 ratio rockers from 1.5. My lift with 1.5 ratio rockers is .502/.510. Just wondering how much lift I will have with the 1.6 rockers. I have a set of LT4 springs and a set of comp cams 987 springs and was going to see which set to use on this motor.

 

535/544 with 1.6 rockers. Use the 987s.

I thought that was too strong of a spring for stock cam? I don't know much about it but I told my buddy I wanted to go with a strong spring when I got RR's so I wouldn't have to buy new ones when I got a cam. He said a stronger spring will cause the lobes on the cam to wear down faster, I called but never asked for a real explanation

 

Its not a stock cam.Its a comp cams XE 276HR-12. And you dont want to put comp cams 987 springs or so on a stock cam because it will cause premature wear.Stock cam or (cam with .525 lift or less w/ 1.6 rockers) the LT4 springs are the way to go.

 

Thanks for answering my question, would putting 987 or similar springs on a cam like you have wear it faster (or wear like it would on a stock cam)? Always wondered this
