How much would a shop charge to install springs? Or is it something I could do myself? I thought the heads I bought came with them installed, but turns out they are not installed yet, just included in the box.

 

its easy. You just need to go to a napa or advance auto and they usually have a loaner spring compressor

 

Do it yourself. I thought it was actually one of the funnest mods I've done.

It will be real easy with the heads off. Just loan a spring compressor from autozone.

 

you mean you bought Lloyds heads and they dont come assembled? does he supply the valve seals???

 

Oh, no no no. Lloyd installs his springs as part of the package. I bought these off ebay (hopfully I'm not to getting screwed) but he claims to have taken the springs off to use on his next set of heads but I made him include them with the acution. We'll see if they really are Lloyd's on Tuesday.

 

Once you assemble them, whack each valve a couple times with a rubber mallet. You're trying to bounce the spring a little to double check that you got the keepers seated. Good luck!
