My mods are listed in my sig. I would expect I have somewhere between 270-280 rwhp. I was wondering how much hp I would gain from an LT4 hot cam kit/ headers/ dyno tuning?

 

This sounds like a perfect question for the LT1 Tech board. You might get a LOT more response over there. They have 22 times as many threads and 15 times as many posts as Advanced Tech. Pretty good odds you can search for the answer or get folks to help you out.

I had the hot cam kit and hooker LT's (no cats), and I went from 275hp 310tq to 345 rwhp & 346 tq. I had a pcm for less mail order tune. I have to say that I loved my Hot cam set up. The car had a very nice lope to it, and was a very nice driver. I did a best of 12.9 @ 110 on street tires.

 

I have a stock 97SS 6 speed that I was looking at doing an LT4 hotcam and headers with a tune. Did you do anything to the heads? I am aiming for a high 12 on street tires. I thought I might need to port the heads or go with LT4 heads and intake. What do you think? It looks like you ahd a combo much like this.

Most guys see around 330 rwhp/330 rwtq with stock heads, headers, the hotcam kit, and a tune.

I don't think you will need heads and and intake, but if you have the money it won't hurt. It all depends on what you are happy with. You could always do a 75-100 shot on that. That's what I did, on a 100 shot I got 11.21 @ 122 MPH. It's small enough that you shouldn't have any trouble. But, I could never get enough so I am building a turbo set up now. It should be a good time, but I should really find better things to spend my money on.
