#2
one of the online perf. parts dealers listed an article from hotrod mag or one of those magazines and they found a .2 sec drop in 1/4mi times from switching shocks.
i looked for the article but couldn't find it...i'll keep lookin...

Grip, at these -30 temps we are having you are going to need more than hals to hook up
I too have been wondering about this and even considering just switching the rears for now. Will this do anything? I have heard the fronts is where you want the hals.

Just don't expect to gain that much.
There was a big discussion on this very subject on the ls1tech.com site some time ago. I know a lot of people cutting very good times on the stock suspension the way it sets. I'm talking 1.4's and 1.5's.
I think a lot people expect to gain a ton of traction with going this type of setup and just to be disappointed that they really did not gain that much.

You know those kyb's might not be a bad bet either. Really are the hal's a true drag race shock? Nope, advertised as simply an adjustable shock. So one might think that another adjustable shock, ie the kyb might do just the same as the hal for a lot less cost.
I am looking into those ce shocks right now too. Adjustable and cheap.

I have the CE shocks in the rear and just purchased the QA1's for the front. The fronts are going in this winter. The CE's worked fine for the back last year but my front was like a stone with the stock shocks up front. I basically had no weight transfer.
I have been told that the KYB's do not go as soft as the QA1's. I believe the softest setting on the KYB's are around the same as the stock shock. My QA1's move by hand like butter when on the softest setting.
