Yea I worked on Manitowoc crawler cranes for 38 yrs and never got used to gloves.
I use the skin tight "grip" gloves sometimes now,and that makes it eisier on this old fart.
If ya get all cut up,get used to it if ya gonna build toy's. Band Aids are on sale everywhere.

Gojo makes a glove called Hi-Tactile. You can spin an allen bolt easily with it. I NEVER used gloves when working on my car until I picked up a set of these. They don't offer a lot of impact protection, but if you're smart enough to learn how to handle a tool, you shouldn't experience that knuckle busting force of a nut breaking through or rounding off. In other words, if you know what you're doing, you shouldn't be all busted up when you're finished.

I made it through my header and motor mount install with no lost blood at all. But it was between 35 and 40 degrees in my garage so I did have gloves on a good part of the time because the tools were too dam cold! But I did get a good gash when I reached back in later on to make sure the plug wires were safe. I found a nice sharp edge and knew it right away.
