When youre forearms are 15 inches around its hard to get into places. Thats why I keep my skinny freind around...lol

Screw getting cuts on your hand I almost lost a friend because of my header install!

It's all good now though.

 

HAHA I once cut my arm doing a starter and for a week after that I had people at school asking if I had slit my wrist.

Usually I wear gloves when working on stuff, and if I'm working near anything hot or really sharp, I wear Kevlar sleeves.

 

I did headers/supercharger/wires/valve springs on my initial build and I woke up in the middle of the third night because my hands hurt so much and I counted about 18 cuts. The hand cleaner and bucket of dirty water that I was using as a wash basin in the garage made them hurt a lot worse than if nurse Betty had kissed them and lovingly applied a sterile dressing.

 

damn people..........i only had 2. and i had never done one before. no ever heard of gloves?? (only 2 i got was when i had to put the plugs in with my bare hands.........how i cut myself is beyond me though

 

Ever taken the dash out on one of these cars, you'll get several nice fine cut that you wont even notice till after your done. I thought it was Stigmata (sp)

 

I counted 43 after I got done with mine. That was counting every little nick and scratch.

 

I can't remember how many cuts I had, but I remember the massive amounts dirt stuck under my finger nails.

I have some now - you can buy them anywhere, but they weren't as common back then.

 

Im the skinny kid in my group of friends... which means I get a call whenever those fatso's want to change their sparkplugs or headers. I did a set of mac mids on both my LT1 car and my friends LS1 car in the same wkend on a driveway under a set of jackstands. Not too many cuts, surprisingly... but I work in an office all day so my body isnt used to rolling under the car constantly.

 

it seems like every mechanical procedure on an fbody is a test of your will to see how much you really love your car. i felt like such a champ after doing the sparkplugs on my car the first time, and meanwhile, my friends who own civics are looking at me like im on crack b/c they dont understand that its not a 5 minute affair like it is on their car.

 

I have a gash on my pinky finger to the bone from slipping the wrench off the pass O2 sensor

 

Gloves are for wimps!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its all part of hotrodding. I never could use gloves. Too cumbersome. I have many scares to prove it.
