How to make the most out of a 6000 rpm redline?
Just wondering how I can make the most out of a 6k rpm redline? I just dont know what I'd need as far as a port job is concerned. Also, is it possible to make that kind of power with a XE224/230, or can i use a XE230/236 and still only have to rev to 6000 rpm on heads that have the crap ported out of them? I know smaller valves means higher air velocity, but I don't know if i should spend the extra $600-800 in machine work to get larger valves..... anyone have any thoughts?
thanks!
thanks!

u just want a 6000rpm redline?
i bet long tubes, catback, cut out, 1.6 rockers, CAI would get you close to it..
with just long tubes and a catback, i would be shifting early at 5700...
LT4 HC will get you there and then some

Ok, sorry for confusion ...
how can i hit 400 RWHP with a 6,000 RPM redline (no higher, I'm paranoid about that stock bottom end). I dunno what kind of heads it would take, but I'm sure all the bolt-ons might get me kinda close...

well, is a 62-6300 rpm redline really nasty for our bottom ends? Seems to me people have problems with breaking their bottom ends revving anywhere over 62-6300 rpm.....
thanks for the input!

our bottom end is pretty stout...
i dont see a stock hydro roller making 400rwhp at anything below 6500 NA on LT1 castings...
well maybe if phil or combo does your heads, thats your best bet
edit:
I stand corrected
