How likely is it that i washed out my opti- and will it dry out at all?
How likely is it that i washed out my opti- and will it dry out at all?
Ok- i was changing the thermostat on my 94 z28- but it has a 97 lt1 block in it- however- i do not know if they changed to the vented optispark or left the 94 in...
Anyways- i was changing the thermostat and got some antifreeze on the motor and waterpump- well, i put the new one in, sealed everything up, started the car, and then took water and kinda splashed the waterpump to wash the antifreeze off...
well then just after that it started running rough- and at first i thought it was the MAF, but it never threw a SES light. but anyways, i wiggled the maf connector- no difference, then i took off down the road and it was spitting, and sputtering and stumbling the whole mile i got down the road where the car finally died...
My question is- will my opti dry out- or am i lookin in the wrong department all together?
Jeff

It might dry out. An easy way to tell if its a vented or non-vented opti, is to just check for the hose that runs fron the intake elbow to the opti on the vented opti
