How to lift car to weld SFC's?

I'll be getting some subframe connectors here for my new car (kenny brown double diamonds are winning, or the SLP ones again)
but for welding them up I dont want to go to the same guy as I didnt like how his welds just broke when my car was hit.

I found a guy that can do it, but he only has a y lift, a Y shaped lift on each side, know what I mean?

I dont want the frame to be twised at all when I weld them up, so I dont think I can use that kind of lift, but what if I used jack stands? and where would I put them?
if I jsut tacked them in or even jsut did half the weld could I then put it up on the lift and do the rest?

Or shuld I really find a guy with a pit to do it?
would mean an exhaust shop and a guy doing his first SFC install...

You have to support the car by its wheels while lifting if you are going to weld SFCs in. That way, you are actually simulating real road conditrions, where all your tires are contacting the pavement. Good luck.

so If I lift it up and put the wheels on like cinder blocks or something that would work? Is that very safe?

I dont mind welding while being on a creeper, but gotta get it high enough to get under the damn car, haha.

Do not use concrete block, that is not safe. I used car ramps at all 4 corners. Drove the front up on Rhino ramps and then used a big floor jack to put the back end on another pair.

I only have two ramps.... is there something I could use for the back that would be good?

A stack of 2x8's will work, or on the rear you can certainly use jack stands under the axle, which is that same thing.

Thats how mine was supported. Prep, the SFCs were put into place, marked off the edges where it needed welded, then used something to grind the paint off, I forget. Whatever you have. Also remove paint on the SFCs. He used flux core on mine, but that was the only option. Mig would probably be better. Don't forget to disconnect the battery. Paint the welds afterwards to prevent rust. The fuel lines are sort of close on one side, don't weld those.
