Yes I believe they are just drop ins. They can only go in one way which you'll see when you have the intake off.

Yup, roller side down.

Make sure you get them good and oiled too. I had mine in a can of oil for two days before I put them in. Overkill...yes. But I'd rather leave them in there too long than too short.

They are a direct replacement, provided you order the correct pn. I believe it's pn 875-16.

what advantage is there to going to aftermarket rollers? do they pump up faster? lighter? "variable duration?" I'm just curious...I'll be doing a cam swap soon...

There's nothing wrong with the OEM lifters. The materials, tolerances, etc. are all about the same between the stock parts and the aftermaket pieces when it comes to hydraulic roller lifters. I have heard that there is just one factory making them in NA anyway, though I am not sure how true this is.

The "R" lifters do have slightly different internal valving though and may be preferable if you are going for a high rev hydraulic setup (over ~6,500rpm). OTOH, many people have used the stock lifters in that situation as well.

It is fine to reuse your OEM lifters if they are in good shape and your car doesn't have high mileage. I did through two rebuilds and one cam change, before I decided to replace them. I could have reused them even this time, they looked fine.
