what to do about maf??

Well I need some advice from you guys. My stock maf is on its way out and I need a new one. I found a few stock ones for sale for ~$65. I haven't been on the board for a while but I've been hearing thing about guys using the Z06 mafs now. I did a search and read all the related posts on it. Since I need a new one anyways, should I go ahead and get a Z06 maf or just buy a stock one. Check out my mods in the sig to see if I would benifit from one. When I had my PCM reprogrammed last year I told them that I had a ported and descreened maf, so will that mess things up if I put a stock unmolested one back in? Give me some opinions guys!

for two years i had GMS maf ends on my stock maf, basically they are composite plastic versions of a ported and descreened maf houseing.

i recently switched to a Z06 maf, and didn't feel much of a difference. i think i will feel more when i get around to installing a different cold air (plans for Ultra Z and ls1 intake setup).

i am presently selling my old maf. i was looking for $50 for the stock maf (just the sensor). let me know if you want to buy it.

Well....

There are 2 different Z06 MAF's out there... the LS1speed.com version, which is a plug and play unit which runs $150.

But if it ever goes out you have to pay another $150 and wait for it to ship.

There's also the GM replacement version out. $85 from any dealer. You have to buy a pigtail seperately (Ramchargers/Ed Wright) and either re-program the PCM with a mail-order tune, or with LT1-edit.

And if it ever goes bad... just go to the dealer....

I agree with your suggestion that he should buy teke184's MAF as well.

Well I found a stock one for $60, should I go with that? On the other hand, I'm a tech at a Chevy dealer and can get parts really cheap. Anyone have a part # for the gm z06 maf???
