How hard is it to swap a transmission?

I have a built 4l60E sittin here with my new converter. How hard is it to swap out the stock one for this unit? My trans guy quoted me 150 + fluid for the change, I would really like to save money and do it myself, is it possible for me and a couple of my friends to achieve this. p.s. we are all novice mecahnics

Thanks

Save the $150 and do it yourself. With a helping hand it makes it very easy. I pulled my t56 with my pops easily. Just get the car off the ground and your ready. I used 5 ton stands to get the front off the ground which worked well. Prolly take a few hours to pull with some help and another few to install it.

its not too bad at all, get the car up on 4 jackstands, use a floor jack under the trans (make sure it is lined up so that you can simply wheel the trans back =) ). Dont forget to take out the torque arm (the bolt was a pain in the tail on the m6). When it starts to come out, simply pump up tha jack and let it hold the trans against the top of the trans hump when you need a break.

good luck!

ps this may sound stupid, but dont forget to drain it =) my first time i forgot, and it was NOT pretty
