How hard to change a fuel pump????

How hard to change a fuel pump????

I think im about to change mine, which i think is the problem but just gauging how much work and how long it will take. If anyone has done it before are there any tricks i should know? Thanks in advance.

If you cut an access panel, not very hard. If you drop the tank you wil need the basic hand tools plus three important things.

1. A buddy

2. More than a few cold ones

3. Patience.

Seriously, once you drop the tank or get the pump assembly out through the top by cutting, it goes together rather intuitively.

Yep. There is a guide posted somewhere to help, dont remember where though. I cut the access panel in mine and it made access to the pump a breeze. I didn't have to change the pump though, I was blowing out the evap lines when I was having emissions trouble and put the air hose on the wron line and blew the line off the pump! DOH! It was either drop the tank or cut the access panel. I'd prolly still be workin on it had I dropped the tank...

Just do a search for "fuel pump installation" or "fuel pump guide". The trap door is by far the easiest way.
