Unhappy How good are Mahle pistons in a stock block?

Tore down the WS6 I purchased 1.5 years ago which was rebuilt and I am kinda getting a feel for what I must upgrade as it's apart and appearently put together wrong as the oil ring in one cylinder was apart and dragging on the cylinder wall causing damage to the block. I may resleeve that one as the rest are ok.

I guess Mahle would be fine since all the LT1s have them as the stock piston.

You beat me to it

But Mahle also makes forged, high performance pistons as well.

Don't pretty much all Nascar teams use Mahle?

thus they are probably stock. Has anyone seen the top retainer ring for the oil ring climb up the side of the piston and scrape the cylinder wall? This motor was rebuild before I bought it. Was it put together wrong?
