Wrong Again! This car was Jordons daily driver. ~500rwhp. Full interior, rollbar, etc. all on a 6spd.

my buddies LS1 (473 rwhp) 6spd ran a 11.05 @ 124 at the track last sunday in 95 degree heat. so i guess it doesnt take 600 rwhp to run high 10s

It depends.

If you can get the car weight way down and cut really slick 60' times (let's say in the 1.5 sec or quicker range) then you can go tens on alot less hp. Of course there's more to it than hp but isn't there always?

Guys I have the issue of GMHTP with the article on Jordon's car. 471 HP, 455 TQ, motor displacement was 401 CI. AFR heads flowing 295/222 and a solid roller cam. I'm thinking big cam.

Article says he went 10.80@130 with a 1.4 something short time.

Prior combo in the article had him with a 383 with AFR's and solid roller making 390 rwhp going 11.30@123.

Probably 450ish at the wheels and a good 1.5 sixty and you're biting high 10's.

no its all about hp. no other variables. I'm sick of your answeres.

you could write a 550 page discussion on "what color is the sky" with 2736 different variables, optimal sun positoin and a lew of other things

I like my bigger is always better no matter what theory
very simple. works in bed too

Can't be answered. What's "streetable" to one guy isn't to another. About all that can be said has been said. You need: weight reduction, solid roller, good heads and exhaust and it's quite possible. Lots of $$$ though, especially in the heads.

The best way to have a "streetable" 600hp car is to do it with boost. Turbo in my opinion. Turbo is also easier on your whole drive train. You might not pull the front end out of the hole... but you won't blaze the tires either. The difference between a 600hp N/A car and a 600hp turbo car is ..... the turbo car can do it on the street and the track. The n/a car is hard to utilize on the street... you will also break a lot of sh it. (i.e. tranny, rear end, driveshaft..etc.)

It can be done but to get there N/A it woul be marginal for the street. I run 4.88 gears and had to switch to manual brakes.(the cam profile left no vacuum to run the booster.Although I am not driving it on the street anymore it might be possible. but to Pass emissions I doubt it.
