How to get 11.4:1 compression???
I'm currently porting a set of stock LT1 heads and was wondering how much I should deck the heads down to achieve 11.4:1 compression?? I think the stock CR is 10.4:1.
Also is 11.4 a good ratio to have?? I'm installing a hotcam with 1.6rr with the heads. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx

4.0 bore
3.48 stroke
.025 deck
4cc dish (valve reliefs)
impala SS gaskets (.029)
You will need to mill the heads down to 54cc chambers, unless someone has experience theres no way of knowing how much that is, just have the barette(sp?) handy.
With just the impss gaskets you are at 10.8
Honestly, if you will be paying a lot to get them milled, dont worry about it, just put the impss gaskets...compression wont help you very much..the only way you could help by increasing compression in your situation is decking the block...milling the heads does not help quench since no matter how far you go quench is only affected by deck height and gasket thickness.
