How far is the knock sensor supposed to be put in?

While Injuneer's statement "As long as you keep the end of the torque wrench directly over the centerline of the sensor, you don't affect torque at all by the length of the extension or the presence of a swivel joint" is for all purposes true for this low torque application, in reality, long entensions will have torsional deflection that will throw off torque readings for higher torque applications.
